AARES 2026 Early Career Economics Research Workshop (ECREW)

The AARES 2026 Early Career Economics Research Workshop (ECREW) is an opportunity for early career agricultural, environmental and resource economics scholars to interact with highly experienced mid and senior career peers. The workshop will take place two days prior to AARES 2026, namely Monday February 9th, 2026. The day will include presentations by senior and emerging leaders in agricultural and resource economics from Australia and internationally. In addition, early career researchers who participate in this event will have an opportunity to share their research with an experienced mentor who will provide constructive and detailed feedback on a manuscript and presentation the participant shares.

12:30 – 1:30pm - Catered Lunch + mentor/mentee “Speed dating” session where each mentee meets 4 to 5 senior participants and spends 5 minutes discussing cue card provided questions 1:30-4:30pm - Early career participant presentation parallel sessions 2 to 3pm - thematically related sessions with up to 12 presentations. We will pre-match mentees with mentors based on interests, research focus. The mentor will carefully read and prepare suggestions / questions for the participant to share on the workshop day. 4:30-5:30 Break (checkin to hotel) 5:30 – 7:00 Drinks and Canapes Reception with workshop participants, mentors and invited local conference participants and early arrivals from out of town.
